Google Panda Algorithm
Relativity is what the computer uses to determine where you fit amongst others in results. Google does talk about the old system where keywords and content played a big role. After struggling with too many 'link-farms' getting ratings pushing down the important legit info, Google has changed to the new Panda system. With my limited understanding I am going to try touch the important parts.
Credibility
As a Business Google now takes into account how credible you are as a source of information. Consider one business buying a newsletter, using its content and posting it as their own to their consumers versus a business owner writing their own content. With the new Panda system the repetition of keywords over and over used at multiple sources now has the ability to give you away as one using another info one writing their own and gaining credibility.
Popularity
Social Media gives you the ability to become popular allowing your followers and your interactions to count towards better online ratings. Most meaningful content to allow other to 'like', 'share' and 'comment'. Even 'check-in's' count towards activity and popularity!
User Friendly
We are all users. We all search online when we are trying to find something. With Graphic Design as a background I guess I can be a very critical browser and here are a few things I see as NO-NO's making browsing difficult:
1) Flashing Banners
2) Bright colors, too many typefaces, no structure
3) Too many menus
4) No consistency from one page to another
5) Pages opening into window after window after window

Engaging
Now Google says have a Woah website where people like to go to, where people like to browse, where people like to visit and you will sorted accordingly.
No Spam
Panda does not like 'link-farms' spamming out the actual legit business pages.
