Traditional Websites

Weebly Websites

Branding:
Limited to the template; squeezing your business into a template that does not fit.
Choose a template that almost fits your brand. Then edit CSS, download files, and customize them to your own brand.
Images:
Upload images to a server that requires expensive hosting fees.
You have a small free hosting package with Weebly, enabling you to upload some images. Try to also use html codes to embed slideshows from Flicker, movies from YouTube, and Images from Facebook. This creates multiple back links from your Social Media sites helping your site with SEO.
Layout:
Traditional websites are built with difficult builders. These have huge learning curves often resulting in un-neat work with white spaces or you being tied to a Graphic Designer for basic website updates.
Weebly has an almost unlimited layout with easily manipulated elements to help you focus on the elements of design while creating a more user-friendly site. The easy drag and drop builder can be used by anyone. Weebly is also constantly updating and making changes to improve their builder.
Body Copy:
More traditional sites have a lot of type, as this used to be seen as one of the most important ways to get search engine results. Today, you need to be aware of Venice Algorithm and getting penalized for the over use of keywords and too much content.
Meta Tags:
Would need an html programmer to add difficult meta-tag to help search engines sort your site.
Easy to add backed site meta-tags as well as individual keyword meta-tags for each page.
New Content:
Older sites require new content to be added to the actual site to keep your content new and relevant.
Your Embedded blog gives you the ability to add new content to your site that would result in search engine results to your site. Older types of blogging are on a sub-site, like blogger.com, among many other blogs, and are NOT driving traffic to your site. A blog that is part of your site has the ability to become credible in the eyes of Google depending on your consistency and the writing of your own content. You can also add a Google Search bar to your site helping others to find content easily. Weebly Pro comes with a search bar.
Engaging:
Traditional sites are more for getting info quick and moving on, than for hanging out to engage.
Your Weebly site can become the central hub of your business where others could come to engage for long periods of time! You can embed your Youtube channel, creating easy online forums, easy questionnaires, learning tutorials and much more! This would cause consumers to ‘hang-out’ having a direct impact on your Google analytics and online ratings.
Directions:
Screenshot of a map with long, extended, typed directions.
Interactive html back-link of your embedded Google Places. This map is linked to your Google Plus account giving you better SEO. This type of map is also more engaging and easy to use with smart phones.
Social Media Bookmarks:
Most traditional sites do not have social media bookmarks. Some have them added to the old styles looking odd and out of place with different style icons.
Weebly Websites has built in Social Media links in the template that can easily program with the url's. You can add an additional social media bookmark, as with current website trends, to a website footer with an easy drag and drop widget. This helps with a user-friendly site.
Facebook Widgets:
In an Age of Social Media these are very important to help you 'connect the dots' online. Unfortunately most older websites are still stuck in the Digital Age.
Feeds:
None or rarely
With your back-end embedded blog, others can also subscribe to your RSS feed using Feedly. This online newspaper app will then drive additional traffic to your site and can easily be shared on social media sites.
Share button:
None or rarely
An html embedded share button would enable others to ‘share’ your pages and blogs on your site. This helps with online traffic as your readers become your empowered ‘sales-reps’.
Newsletter:
None or rarely
Easy ‘sign up’ to your Newsletter campaign with an html embedded sign-up box makes for a more engaging site.
Analytics:
None or at an additional fee
Weebly has easy access to the back-end code making the set-up of your Google Analytics much easier so you can monitor your online traffic. Weebly also gives their own analytics helping you to measure online traffic to your website.
Mobile Site:
These days, at least 30% of online traffic can come from Mobile devices. If you do NOT have a website that displays in a userfriendly manner online you are loosing clients. For most tradditional website an additional site would have to be designed so users could browse your site on their smart phones with ease.
Weebly has a Mobile Site build-in that displays great on smart phones that is easy and user-friendly at NO additional cost.
Editing of site:
Difficult programs with a huge learning curve that requires a webmaster for updates at their rate.
Easy builder with almost no learning curve enabling you to do your own updates in your own time.
Contract:
Designer owns the site, ensuring that all updates are done through them.
Business owner owns the site, while employees and independent contractors can work as editors contributing to various parts of the site
Hosting:
Requires Hosting
FREE if built using html back-links from images uploaded on your Social Media sites. Also hosting is the 'bread and butter' of hosting companies so most don't allow you access to the A-records. As far as I know Godaddy is the only one so far allowing sites without hosting packages to be published for FREE on Weebly.
Cost:
$2000 - $8000
$400 - $1000
*NOTE: The bold parts on the right are things that determine Google Relevancy, helping you to be important online with additional factors in Google's new Panda Algorithm also considered.

As an internet marketer, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to the methods that you can employ to advertise. There are scores of them and each one has its own set of pros and cons. But it's important that you have an overall picture of the marketing environment because it helps you categorize the options available and understand the strengths and pitfalls of each before you draw out your marketing strategy.
