If you are a Small Business Owner and responsible for making sure your business is found online, then SEO is definitely something that might keep you up at night.... I on the other hand cannot tell you how exited SEO gets me! Yes I am the geek behind the computer. In another life I might have been a tornado-watcher because yes the weather is something that excites me as well! So I like to think of myself as a modern day...Google-watcher! I am also a visual person so yes I draw pictures. If you have trouble understanding something the chance that I will draw you a picture is highly likely.... I am also the queen of checklists so let me start by sharing a template of my 'Plug in List'. It goes pretty much hand-in-hand with the image below. SECTION A:
The Road to SEO starts with a name, off course. ONE NAME so that Google knows who you are. You find consistency in this name wherever you are mentioned online and make sure that Google has this name in his business directory. SECTION B: Then you PLUG-IN online. You create accounts on social media platforms who are more important than you and will be more important than you could ever be. This helps with your first online presence. You get your info consistent, claim your names and feed them to help get the most out of your time spent. Lastly you need to help the specific social media platform to know who you are. Online programs sort via connections. If you have no connections the algorithm cannot figure out how to spit you out. So you need to connect yourself to geographical and related markers sothat you can be sorted accordingly. SECTION C: Then you need to work on your vehicle or website. It is the one place where you can be important online. You need to build it to work by using building blocks that can make you important. You your current website might need to be tweaked, updated or upgraded. SECTION D: When your website has the ability to generate seo and it has the different building blocks you need to add some extra parts to make it Social Media friendly. SECTION E: The last part is to give your vehicle some fuel. You could just leave it there but then it would not go anywhere and get old and rusted. This will result in building a new one over and over just to keep it new. You could however give it fuel and keep it new by using your Blog! And this is where I come in! Your social media guide! I use social media as a way to generate leads while using your blog to create new content according to related and trending topics! We then share it via social media to generate clicks. Every click is $$$ and that is what makes the vehicle move down the road! Sound easy? Not exactly... social selling can be tricky. You want to make sure you have as many automatic leads working for you as possible too. Yes we still have the road signs to talk about and how to measure your analytics but that is a topic for another blog! Thanks for reading! Hope it makes sense.... Melien
